Snitches Get Stitches

How far would you go to keep a secret? Ask yourself that question. A lot of people will say they wouldn’t “snitch” under any circumstances. But, that’s a lie.

95% of people that claim to be snitch-proof will “spill the beans” in the midst of trouble. This could be being arrested and questioned by the police or under circumstances of life and death.

I’m going to be devils advocate here and say, why is snitching frowned upon so much? Some people deserve to be snitched on, no? I understand that the way a lot of us were brought up, snitching is a no no. We’re conditioned from a young age to avoid being a Randall Weems (Recess reference)

It’s not cool and it’s the fastest way to lose & prevent you from having friends. However, once you grow up and leave the playgrounds and swing sets behind. Should things change?

Tekashi 6ix9ine has been all over social media as of late. Allegedly, he’s been singing like a canary. With hopes of shortening (maybe even getting rid of) his prison sentence. Some people have taken this opportunity to be TL clowns and make jokes. While others have taken offence to what he’s apparently doing.

People screaming “Rat” “Snitch” “Master Splinter”. But put yourself in Mr Hernandez’ shoes. If you were faced with a hefty prison sentence, would you stay quiet do your time (chances are you’re dying in jail) or would you flip on people to “soften the blow”?

My first instinct has always been “snitches get stitches” and I’ve never been one to snitch. However, if my well-being depended on it. I’m not so sure if those values would stand steadfast. I feel like I can say this because I’m not involved in any incriminating activities thus voiding the whole “don’t snitch” talk. Furthermore, I have nothing to say that anyone would want to desperately know. In contrast to an individual involved in human trafficking or narcotics.

What I’m trying to say is, if you’re “about that life” then the snitching rule should apply to you. Because if it didn’t, it would be incredibly hypocritical of you. You wouldn’t want someone spilling your business to anyone. Let alone law enforcement.

So you shouldn’t do the same.
